Probably simple but could not find detail on this. All advice gratefully received. Cheers Brian

Hey Brian,

if with newsfeed you mean the shoutbox, that's not possible anymore, we took that possibility away some time ago. On normal messages like these here there's an image symbol right next to the 'quick reply' box in where I'm typing this, and the image has to be available online somewhere, for instance in your profile or any other site which can be reached with https. For your profile, it's in 'edit profile'.

This for instance would be a picture from my profile:

And this is from outside (our own lonien.de server in the interweb):

In any other place where you probably don't have the image upload symbol/box, try square brackets with img before and with /img in them after the URL, like in [ img ] (adress) [ /img ] (without the spaces and round brackets).

If with 'uploading' you meant uploading itself, that's not possible, sorry - you can only embed images here, have to upload them elsewhere first. The exception of that being your profile.

Did that help? Please don't hesitate to ask further if I got your question wrong.

Cheers bro,
Wolfgang

Thanks Wolfgang, good to hear from you! And a great photo - looking good!!

I think I get it - the image has to be on the web somewhere before it can be embedded and shared on the News Feed. Think I may have to create a gallery somewhere - as an example, Frankie shared an image of a guitar on the News Feed and it hyperlinked to his gallery which I guess is in his profile. I will have a play with it all and see what happens.

All is well here and under Movement Control Order to try and neutralise the Covid in the face of relatively large numbers, which means must stay at home. I had my first jab in May and the next one due in August. Not doing much singing at the moment, but still writing occasional lyrics. I need an empty house before I sit with the microphone, which is a bit difficult in lockdown and the Mrs floating around the apartment. I get very self conscious!

Stay well and safe my friend,

Brian

Ah, cool - I had my first one in April - see https://wolfgang.lonien.de/2021/04/anti-covid-jabs/ - and the next one I'll get on July 12th :)

Thanks Brian, and you too! And I know exactly what you mean with not being alone, same here with my upright (which is of course louder than a fretless plugged into an interface). Can't even imagine how it must be with singing, when you're the only one who has the music on his headphones...

Glad if I could help with the images, and cool photo as well! :)

Be safe and well my friend,
can't wait to meet you again in RL,
cheers,
Wolfgang

I think the opposite, you should be singing in front of a full house :W
