The tension causes pressure,
Then the pressure brings on pain,
The cure leads to addiction,
Then it all goes round again,
So I'm not playing,
Ain't even gonna place a bet,
There's a bullet in the chamber,
And the game is called Roulette.
The doctor said "you're lazy,
I don't think you really try,"
I said "I've been to Helmand doc,
I've watched good people die,"
So keep your lecture,
I ain't ready for that yet,
Understand one thing about me,
What you see is what you get.
Someone get me off this damn thing,
Get me off this carousel,
It goes round and round forever,
Till it winds you up in hell.
So strap me to a gurney,
Try to fix my broken heart,
Seven hundred volts per paddle,
Couldn't make the damn thing start,
It's not my time though,
That ain't gonna happen yet,
I ain't looking for your pity,
And I never do regret.
The nighttime is for drinking,
Till the morning brings the fear,
Sleep comes after noon,
And then the drinking reappears,
Pass me a bottle,
Line me up another set,
There's a pattern of destruction,
I ain't nearly finished yet.
Someone get me off this damn thing,
Get me off this carousel,
It goes round and round forever,
Till it winds you up in hell.
Then the pressure brings on pain,
The cure leads to addiction,
Then it all goes round again,

Thanks David!
Very cool rendition:
[wl]248788[/wl]
It did get me thinking about how I wrote a very short fifth line in the verses with a particular rhthym and beat in my head - for something more regular, Seven syllables will scan better. I Should have thought of that.
So they COULD go:
So I'm NO LONGER playing,
So YOU CAN keep your lecture,
It's not my time TODAY though,
SO Pass me DOWN a bottle,

I Like it either way Alan! Thanks for the Lyrics dude! I was going for a sound similar to Foo Fighters and that's what I think I accomplished here. :D
