I’ve only just found out after some extensive internet researching that Carlos passed away. I’m deeply saddened by this news as I was an ardent fan of his playing. A truly talented soul and a warm and compassionate man. I see he only uploaded a few tracks on WL’s and I was delighted when he joined a track I’d uploaded in my then incarnation. Such sad news. Did anyone else know about this? I did pay for a subscription for him and I see his profile page is still open. I will miss his playing very much. I know I’m not alone in my admiration for his playing and I hope that wherever his soul is flying high amongst the heavens he will be free and happy. God bless him. Alex❤️

And now I just read that the most incredible organist Joey Defrancesco has died 25/08/22. Man that is sad news. I was in awe of his playing. His bass foot pedal playing was unreal as was his sense of time and harmonic imagination. So sad to hear of his passing. Joyful to know he left so much that was, is and always be of the very highest quality❤️

Yes Alex, I heard about Carlos' passing, I think someone told us in the Shoutbox or so, forgot. And yes he will be missed - like so many other 'loopers, some of which - like https://www.wikiloops.com/artist/stemarqui.php - even never had a single upload here, but they were still incredibly nice and helpful guys.

I miss all of them, and haven't even met some, but their music speaks for themselves...

I found out about Carlos's death from our looper friend Andri and later from his wife, who sent me a personal message. Of course he was an unrepeatable musician with incredible technical skills, creativity, a good person and a moderator of music websites for professionals; I think he worked for Roland and for the creators of Band in a Box. I don't know the details of his death, but I am very much afraid that it has something to do with the sad political situation that Venezuela is experiencing, where there is a very important humanitarian and resource crisis according to what Carlos told me personally. Rest in peace!!:@

Your name is Carlos Arellano (JazzPick)

You must be hear it...

Oh man, I considered him a dear friend. I am deeply saddened.
We lost contact due to the political environment in Venezuela. We shared many conversations off line about music and the world.

He talked me into to replicating his guitar setup in the video below and I did solely on our conversations. Because of him I have my favorite guitar.

He also generously gave me all his Roland guitar synth patches which are incredible and the standard for nylon string sounds with Roland. He was so passionate about his family and music.

I will always remember him by this video.

Salute, brother.
I wish I could have told you what a major musical influence you are to me.

That’s a wonderful thing to do LW. Sharing Carlos’ work like this is a beautiful thing to do in carrying on his research and programming skills. Im glad to see he touched many others lives as well in such a positive way❤️❤️❤️

(Accidently deleted previous post...dont ask....)

For anyone with a Roland/Boss GP-10 Guitar Synthesizer,Carlos helped develop alot of the nylon guitar patches.
He was kind enough to share his entire library of development patches with me and I am enclosing a download link below.

Many are not available anywhere else.

These will work in any Boss/Roland effect units that can import a ".tsl" file.

For those familiar with Boss/Roland this is a "set list" with over 100 individual nylon and acoustic guitar sound patches Carlos developed.

I must admit I did not know him or his music, he seemed like a proper musician. I am not sure these patches will work with my Roland GR55 but I will give it a try, I could use a good Nylon patch... Thanks for posting them!
