Hello Loopers!!! I am Ron and have been on the loops for years now. I am a reserved private type of individual who is actually an introvert so I tend to stay quiet. I am going to break the mold on that identity for today to tell you something that happened to me over the last three months that changed everything.

I checked out of this big blue ball for over 7 minutes on Oct. 24th 2022, I died.

My wife found me unresponsive on the couch, no pulse, glassy eyes and turning blue. She is a certified CPR instructor and went into instant save mode. I responded to nothing she did and was slipping away as she screamed in terror that I can't leave her yet.(her account) My face was turning purple and she did something she knows is not in the CPR hand book. She put me on my side and I took a deep breath and bitched at her for waking me up, I was unaware anything happened until I saw paramedics rushing through the door. All of this happened because I was a dumbass, plain and simple, a hard headed dumbass.

The reason I am telling my story is in the hopes I can stop another from being a dumbass like myself. I did not know that I had suffered a heart attack 3 months earlier, but my body tried to tell me something happened. I felt run down, more aches and pains than usual and hard to breath sometimes, I was being sent an urgent message by my body to do something.

I kept putting things off, I will do it tomorrow I would say, well, tomorrow almost didn't come. I just did not want to take the time to go to the doctors and now all I am doing is going to various doctors trying to fix what I ignored.

The point to this is me letting you know how important it is to listen to what your body is saying to you, it tends to speak loudly at times. If something is not right just get to a doctor, an hour or two there is much better than 3 days in ECU 2 days in ICU and 2 days in the hospital. People tend to overlook what is going on with them because of the matter of convienience. At least I did but I am a, well you know.

I do not need sympathy, pity or anything else on this matter, my prospects look good, just the knowledge I am imparting some knowledge to all my friends on the loops to avoid a huge mistakes. LISTEN TO YOUR BODY!!

Get your exams, make the time for them. I am sure others have similar stories, share them.

Thanks and Happy Jamming :W<3:W

I'm so happy you are alright Ron.. Your poor wife must have been out of her mind. And how lucky you are that she is a certified cpr instructor and had the initiative to use her own instinct that saved your life. Thank you for sharing your story.<3<3

Wow glad you made it back from the other side! And yes, once we reach a certain age it is important to keep fit and watch out for those signs! P.S. I also hate it when I get woken up by loud noises :D

Glad to hear your okay. Had an incident myself about a two years ago like yours.I came home and suddenly couldnt breath. I felt strangled. Also the right side went numb and I knew that is a classic heart problem sign so promptly swallowed two aspirin which helped stop the damage. For 25 years I lived a diet of coffee and cigarettes and it caught up on me one particular day.

Did you get a stent? Pacemaker?Either way , no matter what brand, the laser weld of both those I had a huge input into the patent. So I got paid by you getting one!
Thank you!

Anyway....a word of advice. You are not out of the woods yet.
Especially watch your urination about 6-8 months after surgery.
If you start feeling water weight, especially in the legs, that is called Edema and is a very commen post surgery symptom but causes alot of problems if untreated. If you do experience your body holding excessive water and feel like you have a gallon swishing around in your tummy, tell your doctor you want to go on Entresto.A marvelous new drug for heart disease.Your heart is weak and finds it harder to pump fluids from your body.Entresto takes the burden off so you can get rid of the fluids more easily and live life again. Most doctors will prescribe a stupid water pill that does nothing.Tell them you want the Entresto.
No I do not work for Entresto and do not make money off that.

Glad you are okay, Ron. Plan on walking alot. Get that heart back into shape. The heart can heal and walking /exercise is so important after something like this.I feel a million times better after they unblocked my artery but went thru a nightmare with the post Edema thing.Dont be afraid to switch doctors either if you feel they arent doing enough. You should be feeling better not worse. Keep an eye on weight gain due to water.
I can now literally glide while walking up 5 flights of stairs without huffing and puffing for breath, look younger, feel happy etc... so in a way it was a good thing that happened as it got me to change a few things.

However, I am not a good boy and still refuse my doctors insistance I get a colonoscopy.

Be good!
