An exhausted gardener wipes his brow,
When the work seems done but there's more somehow,
It feels like it shouldn't be real,
But it's still a burden,
And it's bathed in ethereal light,
In our Torture Garden,
And it burns on through night,
In our Torture Garden.
Moon beams falling on the petals and leaves,
For a flower-bed queen who truly believes,
The path to a heart can be laid,
Upon poison ivy,
And it's better if you close your eyes,
In our Torture Garden,
And it comes as no surprise,
In our Torture Garden.
There are many ways in and no way out,
But you won't comprehend what that's about,
If you can't relate to a state,
Of invented virtue,
And it's made out of pleasure and pain,
In our Torture Garden,
And it's bound by daisy chains,
In our Torture Garden.
Where the love dies easy the hate dies hard,
And nobody walks out of there unscarred,
As they're ripped and torn by the thorns,
From the seeds they planted,
And it's wreathed with the scent of decay,
In our Torture Garden,
And it never fades away,
In our Torture Garden.

Mixed feeling on this - the song is great as are the lyrics but unfortunately I'm in a constant battle with my own torturous garden... sadly the weeds, thorns and leaves are winning :)

Oops! - Thank you for f/b on the words <3 . Sorry to have bought up the subject for you though!
Recently. I have been experimenting with re-wilding.
Less work [check], fewer injuries [check], environmental karma points [check]. Plus it has bought forth many wild flowers which in turn has brought the honey bees back... Can't tell you how much joy that brings me.
