Hey Guys and Girls, I love this virtual place where real people (real musicians) are present.
Listening to different jams and picking one out to join in.
I am about to go on a short tour with my band buddies here in Suriname where I live.
Wednesday we will travel to the Netherlands for a couple of gigs. We are invited to play on a festival called Kwaku. It's a Surinamese festival. The funny thing is that we are from Suriname, but our music is far from traditional and more Indie. People who don't know us and are expecting traditional Surinamese music will be surprised in a positive or negative way.
We just have a video clip out for our new single. It's called "Wasting Time".
You can watch it here https://youtu.be/otw25aImzUQ
We play only original songs and play varied styles.
Here are some examples:
Politicians Gold, A song about politic games to ruin our Amazon jungle for gold.

Raizes, A song about a young girl losing her father to cancer

I hope the links work because they do not look very attractive here :D
After the tour I will stay a little longer to visit my fams and will be back half of august. I guess I will not be able to do anything on the loops during this time but when I'm back there will quite some nice jams waiting for me :D
Have a wiki day
See you soon!

Hey Bas,
funny, that "Kwaku" festival name reminds me of a percussionist we've had here in Cologne, Germany - he was with a band called Can, see

Have a good trip, and enjoy the Netherlands. I like that country a lot. And be back well then.
Cheers,
Wolfgang

Hi Wolfgang,
Thank you for your reply.
Kwaku is originally an African name for a man born on a Wednesday.
In the capital of Suriname, Paramaribo, there is a statue of a freed slave, and he is called Kwaku. It's a reminder of the ending of slavery on July 1st 1863 that was on a Wednesday. July 1st is a national holiday in Suriname.
Have a good day!
