Annabel came around Saturday night,
She was looking for a place to unwind,
We shared a takeaway sat on my couch,
With a bottle of Italian wine.
We watched Rocky I, we did Rocky II,
And then we powered through III and IV,
I said I thought I was all "Rockied-out",
But she reckoned I could take one more.
Annabel said that we're better off dead,
She could get a little morbid some days,
She said it's a world run by selfish pricks,
That can screw you in a thousand ways.
Annabel died about six months later,
In an incident in southern France,
Never got to tell her the way I felt,
Now I'm never gonna get the chance.
Annabel, Annabel, one of a kind,
I ain't never met nobody like you,
I only wanted to make you happy,
Now it's something that I'll never do.
