Hello everyone,
I return today to a subject that I had already addressed a few years ago.
I had however expressed myself courteously in my Post but my approach seemed to have displeased.
I will summarize my request:
When publishing a remix, Wikiloops offers the option of adding an optional separate track.
The major advantage of this option is, if each of us agrees, to be able to integrate a remix without being blocked by a previous contributor practicing the same instrument.
I know that this practice, if generalized, would be restrictive for the disk space of servers.
But it would have the advantage of satisfying the greatest number.
Including to indulge in the mixing technique of which I am a great follower.
I await your advice...
Good music to all
Phil

Phil,
I understand why making HDs available can be important especially if you want to focus on mixing. Can`t adress the potential bottleneck of disk space, that would be for Dick to answer, but I think that there`s a compromise already available. I`ve seen a number of upload comments where the uploader stated that HDs are available on request.
Also, I know that some loopers actually delete the stems/HDs once they`ve uploaded their stuff, so making HDs compulsory might be a critical issue for some.

I don't think that forcing people to upload HD is an option. We can ask nicely, but making it compulsory will be difficult.

I have not at any time suggested in my Post an "obligation" to attach a separate track.
I simply mentioned the frustration of not being able to contribute to a project from the moment a previous mix integrating my instrument blocks any possibility of integrating mine into the mix of other contributors.
And, since I’m not talking about an obligation, why did the developers consider and create this option in publishing a remix with this optional track?
Good evening to all... :)
