Not just Beethoven but any of those old Classical composers ; what style of music would they be uploading here today?
They wouldn't have witnessed Rock and Pop, Funk and Punk even Blues and Jazz.
They wouldn't have composed for guitars or used modern drum kits or even regular rhythmic music and freestyle vocals.
But what they did produce was RIFFS! Many of those riffs have been used in modern music
* The copyright duration of music is "The composer's lifetime + 70 years" so it's all in the public domain now.
Your questions are
* Which bygone composers would do well today if they became wikiloopers ?
* Which wikiloopers will be revered in 100 years time and why ?
* Even if you dislike Classical music would you ever use a Classical riff ?
* If you make Classical compositions, which old composers have influenced you ?
It would be good to get some links to your own songs if they include famous old riffs!

Ha, I`ve always considered Mozart to be the Stock, Aitken, Waterman of his time, pure pop, calculated and predictable. Händel would probably turn to electronic music with lots of effects. Beethoven I think would compete with rootshell and Ernie for riffs and powerchords and Chopin and Schumann would be a nice addition to FrankieJ and ROBJOL.

1 - Succeed? They made the music of their time. Today, they would have been called Beatles, Hendrix, BBking or something else.
Not sure they're wikiloopers. Loopers share, professionals very little if at all. Yet some of the people playing here are as good as the successful pros. And the pros often look down on amateurs, apart from those at the top.
2 - Joker! I wish it to all loopers 😜
3 - All music is a source of inspiration when you're sensitive to it.
4 - Joker again, I only play what gives me emotion. Listening to classical music (when I was very young) was a springboard for the rest, because like the classics in their day, I came naturally to the music of my time.
I hope to get at least 10/20 on the questionnaire.😎😀

i wish i knew more about classical movement. in my music appreciation class in college, i did listen to classical music, and it was so great, like stories being composed with movements, etc. hearing an orchestra in person is amazing, it's just a WOW moment as i recall.
i think any of the great classical composers would adapt to the style today, they were just that good. who knows what a Beethoven composed metal song would sound like, probably darn epic :) he may even get 12 thumbs (ouch, yes i'll take a jab at wikiloops) :D

Monsieur, you get full marks just for posting on my thread :W :)
You are right, there can be no comparison with the music business then and now. Most of the Classical composers back then were writing for elite audiences only, they were often from wealthy backgrounds themselves Now we live in a world where music is accessible to all to produce or consume. I listen to music for similar reasons to you, I don't distinguish by genre but rather what I get from it.

I'm with you there Nick, to really appreciate the impact of Classical and Orchestral music you have to hear it live, in a huge concert hall with amazing acoustics. Although String Quartets or piano recitals can also be intimate and moving.
When you hear Rock and Pop music live in a large venue, it's not so much to hear every note, the excitement comes from having your ears and chest throbbing. It's a communal experience, you don't wait till the end to politely clap like they did in the 18th century :)

I was just wondering what these composers would be called on wikiloops
Beethoven would obviously be BEAThoven1812
Mozart = The Wolf
Guiseppe Verdi = Joe Green
Franz Schubert = FrankieS
I'm struggling to think of any more :)

OK to all, but a genius from the 18th century, a genius from the 40th century or a genius from another world is still a genius. Nothing compares, except the vision he had of his time. A classical guitar teacher gave me a list of about two hundred modes. We are only a tiny part of the musical universe. Let's let ourselves be lulled into their world, capturing their emotions. I remember the antagonism that journalists made between Clapton and Hendrix in the 70s. It was ridiculous.
Personally, I'm either touched or not, it's different for others, which doesn't make me the best listener.
Long live all the music that speaks to us and may our ears be enchanted. As for us, we'll give it our best shot, knowing that our potential genius may never reach beyond the confines of our village. Population of mine (100 people)
Thank you Wikiloops for introducing me to the world and to you. 😂❤️

It warms my heart when a wikilooper is inspired to action by a forum subject. rootshell tried something different by incorporating a switch in genres to produce evil Rock with an Angelic heart. The Music Mistress would approve :)

Why not. As per his friends, a part of his musical seriousness he was a quite public man. He likes unpredicrable things, jockes, contacts with other people. This he can easy get with wikiloops. Regarding music for him will be easy to adapt to present music styles. Good question anyhow. B)
