Today I
* remixed a Blues song by frenzie with a very strange lyric about OCD.
* lugged a heavy wardrobe from one room to another (on my own)
* had tomato soup and crackers for supper :)

*today I ripped out a rose bush, roots were deep so took a bit of work. it trashed my old hands (they are shaky/sore) so vocals tonight, no guitar :)
*dinner was fried shrimp and asian rice

Today I started reading the book I got at Christmas. I guess they thought it was time for the caveman to become civilized.
Today I also thought, can a person explode if he eats too much Christmas chocolate? Fortunately, that is last box, so I might not get an answer to this question.
After that, luckily, I didn't think about anything anymore, because I started playing the bass. Long live the simple BOOM of the bass that calms the mind.

Today is my first day at work after 2 weeks off. What did I do?
-checked hundreds of emails, deleted about 3/4 of them (spam). Ignored a few. answered a few
-phoned colleagues to put out a few fires (not real fires, duuuh). Fires are quenched. But some embers still glow. I stay alert! Drink coffee.
-chatted with colleagues about what I did on Christmas and what presents they got.
-checked approx. 15 Wikiloops tracks (during my break of course ;) )
-drank coffee and water.
-Philosophized with myself if I should have taken the 4x4 instead of the Nissan as it is snowing now. Pro/contra, arguing with myself, did not reach a clear resolution.
-wrote some replies on the Loops during Lunch
-ate lunch.
-wrote this.
-agreed with myself after a short discussion that I would retire on the spot if I could afford it ;)

January 2nd (for me anyway)
Very cold today so I haven't been outside "brrrr"
I spent the morning working on a video for the OCD collaboration song - ironically I had to do the same bit over and over, why do programs always crash just before you make the final move before saving ? :o
2025 isn't going well so far :(
* my reading glasses snapped into pieces
* a filling dropped out of my tooth
* I left a paper tissue in the washing machine and got flecks of fluff on all the clothes
Supper = chicken soup, crackers, duck and orange pate plus caramel yogurt :)

Had lunch on the front deck and enjoyed the sun, fresh home baked rolls with cheddar cheese and an apple. Wrote, recorded and uploaded a song about the tragic event in New Orleans yesterday and spent some time wondering why some people are just plain evil. Thanked my lucky stars once again that I accidently stumbled upon wikiloops 5years ago and also put off eating healthy for one more day.

*went to the casino, won 100 bucks
*meant to jam on someone's template, but I started jamming something else and just started something new, this happens quite frequently

Waking up at 7:30 then laundry stuff.
Plugged the guitar and try to re do something on the music done yesterday.
Making a Caesar salad for lunch with my son.
Then back to guitar in order to complete the last song played first with bass.
A bit of leveling in world of Warcraft….
Back to work next week.

Day3
I realized I was still a beginner. I'm not talking about things related to bass playing, I'm talking about something even more important. I don't have a bass face!
You probably know the moment, when music and the bad smell of a sweating bass player twists a player's face strangely, creating some unique ugliness.
I think I'll practice in the evening in front of the mirror. Maybe one day I'll also be a ugly bass player.
I realized I was still a beginner. I'm not talking about things related to bass playing, I'm talking about something even more important. I don't have a bass face!

Woke up around 2am with an idea for a song about why the blanket magically works it's way free from the rest of the bed covers and ends up in a tangled mess half on the floor, spent the rest of the night trying to come up with the first line. Woke up at 7am exhausted with no trace of it in my mind. Ate the last three sausage rolls and a mince pie for breakfast with two cups of coffee still determined to eat healthier in 2025.

I wish there was more than a "Thumbs up!" to give to these great little anecdotes. I've been tempted to reply but then it wouldn't be a 'Diary' it would just be a chat, so I'll keep to my own business (for now)

* After Nick's "Mother Shamika" comment yesterday, I couldn't resist writing some lyrics and recording a vocal this morning.
* This afternoon, in the Supermarket they were playing 'Reach for the stars' (S Club 7) I couldn't stop myself having a little dance (with actions) in a quiet aisle, hope security didn't see me :D
* More furniture moving today, a bed this time - I have problems getting the right 'feel' for my surroundings, I guess that's why Feng Shui was invented :)
* I feel like watching a good film tonight, tired of all the Christmas classics now.
Supper = Seafood cocktail, crisps and fruit cake

*woohoo'ed the Friday in the shoutbox
*finished work at 3 in the afternoon, went to the gym after 3 weeks of Chrismas laziness.
*discovered to my surprise that I only gained maybe 1 kg, so was very happy
*admired my muscles in the gym mirror when nobody was watching
*came to realise I am not Arnold...but it could be worse
*went to a Varieté show with Mrs. Gee in the evening, which included a 3 way dinner beforehand in a fancy restaurant. Felt a bit uncomfortable is such posh settings. I am a simple man.
*at the Varieté, our table was at the stage, near a small step leading down from the stage. I feared the worse.
*The worse happened. The drag queen came down the stairs, looked me in the eye and started talking to me through the microphone. Luckily she sensed I was going to sh*** myself if she asked me to come to the stage, and decided to attack some other people. Phew that was close. My mistake, I made eye contact. Rookie!!!
*told Mrs, Gee that next time we will have to book a table further away from the stairs of doom.
*enjoyed the show, had some good singer, good acrobats and 3 lovely looking girls.
*engine light came on on the way back - the bloody right bank lambda sensor playing up again.
It was a good day :)

Dear diary, Day 4
Finally, I threw the Christmas tree out. I should have done it earlier because all that was left was a stick that would drop needles if I made even a small touch.
What a mess..
Maybe I could sell the tree trunk and needles to Ikea, which could sell it further as a diy Christmas tree, just glue the needles to the tree.
