Breeze skipped over the sea today,
Drifting on up from the south,
Spices of Africa borne on the wind,
Blowing right in to my mouth.

I'm ready for the rhythm of summer,
Hoping for the sun on my skin,
Living for the rhythm of summer,
Waiting for the tune to begin.

Grabbing a cold one out of the ice,
Guys dance about in bucket hats,
Everyone choking on barbecue smoke,
It just don't get better than that.

Sadie rocks up with that sun-kissed smile,
She's all sandals and strawberry lips,
Laughs as she spills her drink onto my shirt,
Percival with daiquiri drips.

Sun going down in a lavender sky,
Chopping Bobby D. on guitar,
Kids chasing fireflies into the trees,
Looking for a shooting star.

I'm living for the rhythm of summer,
Gold bars over my skin,
Riffing on the rhythm of summer,
Letting its music begin.
