I would say 'go with the flow' first ideas are often the best, the more you fiddle about with stuff the further you get away from the joy of just playing from the heart. <3

That is right. You are stating to use initial impulse and sense and normally this is great. Also variation of sound and harmony guiding us how and what.I also most of time just listen once the track, gettonality, first two, three chords progression and then my brain, senses, experience and finger's know what to do. Some time is not like that especially classical forms, jazz.

You always ask interesting questions Krasimir. :)
I believe that it depends on everyone. Playing music is above all a pleasure to do so. Some are happy by building something solid and thoughtful like beavers, others are like squirrels, where did I put my hazelnuts? The stakes are also different depending on whether one plays as a simple amateur or wants to be able to play with a group and in front of an audience. In this case, the 'squirrel' version is not possible, unless you are hyper-gifted.

Both are very good to do. I tend to get more joy from working on stuff over and over and over, but sometimes, just throw out a track. At the end of the day, do whatever gives you the most joy, no?
