Figure with such a great community here at Wikiloops that whoever has some youtube action going should share! Lets get a subscription 'love in' going!

I've got a few playalongs. I like this one because of the blooper reel at the end...

And here's one just because this is pretty close to how much I enjoy recording here at Wikiloops.

Yup some of us have done some...it's a good idea. Most people are too shy to do it though.

Top playing, CK!

I've videoed a couple of loops as I've recorded them live in the past. They're difficult because the performance has to match the video so I have to get it right - no editing after the event! Here's two I did previously (these are genuinely live takes, as posted to the loops).

Beyond that, my profile is here. I don't update it very often and there's stuff on there from my much younger days when I had hair, attitude and energy! I'm not good at the video stuff! But I'll try and do more loops video stuff. I think it's pretty cool to give the 'loops an insight into how stuff is played and recorded.

It's a 1992 Yamaha 9000 Recording Custom in Cobalt Blue (with 'Made In England' on the badges meaning it was finished in the original Premier factory in Leicester) - an oddly rare colour! The toms I'm using in the videos are 8x8, 10x10, 14x12 and a 16x16 floor tom and they're all fitted with Remo Ambassador coated heads which brings the sound to life. The snare is a 1964 Ludwig 400 which I bought by accident, not knowing its provenance or desirability!!! The kit's from the days when 'power' sizes were fashionable. I'd love a kit with shallower toms! My full kit is much bigger (I have 8x8, 10x10, 12x10, 13x11, 14x12, 16x16 and 18x16 toms) but I usually only use what I need and I usually use just a four piece kit. Because of the rarity of the colour, I had to buy the full kit (in 1992, nobody had a blue drum kit!). Funnily enough, I regularly get emails asking if I'll sell parts of the kit. The same goes for requests for whether I'll sell my knackered-looking snare.

No deal! Not ever. I will be buried with that snare drum!

I want another, smaller kit but this one ain't for sale! Not ever!

And I have to mention this video on my feed:

It's a full gig from 1995. Yes, I was 22, I had [bad] hair. Sorry about that. The singer is a wonderful singer called Kate - daughter of Chas Hodges of 'Chas 'n' Dave' fame for those of you with a British (Cockney) leaning. But she was [is] a phenomenal songwriter and singer and an utter joy to play with. But, most importantly, it's the most-valuable recording I own because of the bass player, Ben Rochford, who was 20 in this video. I went to Musician's Institute with him. I studied music with him. He was my best friend. He was my musical confident and my inspiration. My purpose. My music. He was supposed to be the best man at my wedding. He died six months after this was filmed of a heart attack before he even reached his 21st birthday. A brilliant player, as I hope you can see, and creative musician cut so very short before his time. 20 years later I miss him no less. He was my best friend but he was also my music.

I have a bunch of Wikiloops videos. Here's one of me playing along to a GigsterDrum track. It turned into a pretty cool jam - check out the one with Uloisius on vocals (links in the description section of the video):

Here is my latest - transcription of Thelonious Monk's Bye-Ya.
There is not much to watch - I couldn't post it on SoundCloud because of copyrighted content.

I do these with a buddy from work,

I have no idea how to paste these properly, and I am way too tired to try, I think they are worth the effort to copy and paste :)

Another shenanigan from the other day, this time messing about with lining up two camera angles. It's time-consuming and iMovie isn't too hot for getting audio and video to line up. These videos are tough because I can't make any edits for mistakes after the event - have to get the take right!

I'd forgotten about this one. I did a charity single with a Lotus Cars owners club I used to be a member of and we played live at the club's annual festival each year. All the band members are Lotus car owners and musicians. The singer who's driving works for 'The Mill' (who did Doctor Who's special effects) which explains the impressive video! There's far too many in-jokes to explain here.

You wouldn't think the whole video was shot in the singer's driveway in Basingstoke with a green cloth hung from the garage door! This is what filming actually looked like

And the interior. Me operating the keypad with a drumstick didn't make the cut!

I appear for about half a second at 2:19!
