Ernie440 I haven't experimented with that much ... I have tuned down a notch before just to get floppier strings as an experiment but haven't in ages, probably about the same time I played my fretless. +1

rootshell i'm assuming the noodles get a little floppy when tuning down. probably too much trouble now that i think about it. i use a heavier set of strings for my drop C guitar. +1

Ernie440 I generally buy light gauge bass strings ... I find the tone plenty deep and they seem easier to play for me. Heavier set for drop C .. yeah makes sense. +1
