Another lovely play from you. Sure wish you'd set yourself up with some better recording gear. +2

kah wah ta Much appreciate your input....I am 78 and also caregiver to cancer-dementia wife for 15 years now...not much time to get into tech software/hardware to get to the semi-pro levels as other musicians.. +1

Wade We are similar...I'm 77 and have a blind wife.

Not much to "get into" a decent microphone and headphones are about all that's necessary. You obviously already have a computer. Lots of information on youtube regarding setting up to record, e.g. having the microphone at the right distance and using Audacity or some other simple free software for editing.

When/if we have something we think is worth recording and sharing it should (IMHO) be worth sharing the best we can. The cost and time involved isn't much. Inertia can be overcome by simply asking yourself "is my playing worthy". If you don't think it is worthy then I'm not sure why you bother posting. You can play with these tracks without posting.

kah wah ta Maybe one day, I will cross the bridge. My main focus is my weekly flute play at the lobby of the local hospital...wikiloops presents challenges to play differently/better and get helpful inputs....like yours... +1

Wade We encourage each other to play the best we can. Some of us (me especially) don't require as much prodding as we tend think our playing needs a lot of improvement. When small improvements can make a big difference, then it's worth taking a chance of being too forward and mentioning it to others.

Hopefully you'll eventually find that recording your fine playing well is worthwhile.

Wade It's not that difficult. Having a computer is the key to being able to record with digital high quality. For my purposes the free program Audacity (and there are others) makes it relatively simple. Headphones and a microphone are the only other gear needed.

There are other very sophisticated (and expensive) editing programs, but the difference is minimal.

We listen to music and less to technical audiophile perfection. When/if the lack of audio quality prevents us from hearing the music, then it's an impediment. On the other hand, if we haven't got anything to say in our playing, then the best technical gear and editing isn't going to make it better.

In my opinion you have something to say in your playing, but just aren't getting it through to us. I sincerely hope that at some point you overcome this.

kah wah ta Understand well your view...will try as I played around with Audacity last night only for editing. Tried recording but unable to solve mike item. Also need to learn how to record over a playing template +1

Wade Try this link:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sLHSM2JSm_A
It's one of a series of "how to" using Audacity which describes recording with backing tracks. I think there are other videos in this series that can also help.

I too like what you are doing, you have good ideas, a good feel for the sound of the NASF. I go with Wade, I would also enjoy it if your instrument was a little better integrated.:):) +1
