Get a book with some limb independence exercises and another with examples of grooves. Execute what is written by appending one exercise to another, and the track jumps out... that's the secret. Thanks for listening as always,Wade.

It's easy enough. I practice almost every day and this allows me to have a good sight reading. When I find grooves that I like while playing, I put them together in a track structure, write it and play while recording the resulting drum chart. If I still like the recording it becomes a WL track. The steps of adding to a template are a bit different but my approach is the same.
