Playing a sax into a microphone is a bit different to being plugged in. I play with way too much dynamics and have to adjust. Also often just play too much and need to trim down. This is what I expect as part of the exercise. I play differently when live and usually play less. Nothing is planned out...all just jamming, so there's the need to clean up (sucking spit from the reed/mouthpiece, banging the microphone, outside noises, etc.).

I get that point too Wade, don't compromise with stuff you are not proud of. It's a it of a fine line. I do unfortunately let takes slip through and think I shoulda given that a closer listen.
