I know it's not easy, haha ... it's not one of my best techniques .. you are getting good at it. I find it hard to record it well too.

It is not easy to run or record the slap to sound good, if it's my recording technique is the next without ever saturate the signal at the thud of slap on the serious note: double line signal on a channel from the amplifier XLR input with compressor effect and a clean signal at the input jack of my sound card. EQ: bridge pickup, treble open, midtones open and low tone to sound like (in my case 50% to avoid saturating signal), and of course a precise and loving touch mute strings on the fretboard

Thank you for the recording tips ... I need to play with it some I know and I have to get a decent xlr cable myself ... I have one but it's a terrible cable and noisy.

After experimenting with many recording techniques, to my taste is double input signal audio card (with effects and clean), and I forgot to tell you that this past XLR input with a DI box injection
