The same can be stated about midi-generated music, samples and the experiMental electronic audio manipulation tracks some have posted in the past. These are IMHO misfits to the concept of handmade music, and luckily such tracks never attracted a lot of attention on wikiloops.

Let's agree to disagree :) This sounds like a gross over-generalization really. Speaking for myself, practically all my contributions have used midi in varying degrees of sophistication (even if only to record me playing my digital piano). Both my "normal" and "experimental" tracks have been met with some enthusiasm - albeit not always from the same audience, but that's perfectly fine. Just because something involves midi or sounds experimental does not automatically imply it is low-effort or doesn't take any skill to record or generate.

I agree on that, and I apologize if you read my statement as lacking respect towards those who use midi or do experimental stuff, be it electronic or whatever. I guess I am guilty of over-simplifying things there.
What I was trying to describe are the cheap fruity-loops type drag n drop midi sounds, which never received a lot of love on wikiloops (why should they), and experimental stuff that either fails to inspire remixes, or (in case its a remix) feels like someone just ran your carefully recorded track thru a shredder... people have found it difficult to see collaboration in such experiments, I can understand why.
Hope we can agree that the works described by my now improved description are no good fits to wikiloops :)

Well said Wade! I concur..my opinion is the loops should be real music....played by humans..maybe there should be a place for people who just use AI composed music. to each their own I guess but just seems pointless to me if people aren't actually playing their instruments.
