Hooray! We have 10 members in Shamika's Wide Awake Club which is great.

* * * Firstly, what I'm planning is to feature each member in this thread.

I hope to tell you what I know about them and their music and I will post a song (or two)
But as I'm sure many of you will know these artists better than me I'm inviting comments from my lovely reader/listeners too.

I'm starting with - jamlady - I see a German flag and I hear a slight accent. I think we are in the presence of the music elite with jamlady. She is so multi-talented.... conducts, plays (drums, cello, keyboard and bass) and sings. I always get lovely feedback from jamlady and some of her music stuns me it's so moving, so artistic.

I'll be picking out a song to represent jamlady later but if anyone has a request, feel free to tell me :)

Of course I should have used your real name Claudia :) I'm choosing this song, not just because of your emotive playing but the lovely comment you left about Rob.

"With this piece I want to express very special feelings. And I want to dedicate this piece to Rob. He inspired me from the start and his special way of playing cast a spell over me...."

Jamlady is indeed a very talented artist with lot of imagination. But... she wants me to "repeat" my musical themes and repeat again...

It is an expedition every morning to wake her up. She is just like "Phil the groundhog" in Punxsutawney when they take the poor animal out of the box.

A lovely response from Claudia (and Rob who will now be an honorary club member of course) Don't forget to write in with any thoughts you have about jamlady and all the people I'm featuring :)

I notice the featured album at WL today is Liesching & jamlady - a real treat for Classical music devotees :)

* * * Happy to say we enrolled 4 more wiki-wackies yesterday... should be some interesting 'featured artists' in this thread. Later today I'm featuring a popular male artist. Watch this space!

Friday's featured member needs no introduction really but here goes :)

This well known artist has over 4,000 tracks marked up (4th highest) He was the first to Join the Wide Awake Club as he's very supportive and up for most things on WL.
We have many Bass players on this site but few could match this guy for Wow Factor. The strongest, loudest, most daring... you can't put this fellow in a corner :)

It is, of course Ernie440 - not sure of the significance of the numbers? Ernie has been a "Bass fanatic" since the tender age of 16 and admits that's at least 40 years ago. He has 10 guitars but modestly doesn't think you need to spend out for expensive equipment as long as it works and you get a good feeling from it :)

You can tell how popular Ernie is when you see he 's been part of over 20 bands at wikiloops, anyone who has played with him will tell you he's all about "Fun" You will often find Ernie chatting in the Shout box or maybe in your compliments/replies section.

Ernie shows a Canadian flag, so, time wise he's way behind WL HQ.

There is something other than his Bass collection that Ernie loves with a passion so my picture will please us all :)

This is Dougie the beagle, Ernie's irresistibly cute pet.

What would you say about Ernie that hasn't been said by me ?
Which piece of music might sum this member up best ?

I particularly like Ernie's bass work on this recent mix

Ernie is the staple that holds Wikiloops low-end together and his dog is precious!! It doesn't matter what style you write, Ernie can nail down the bass on it. I hope one day I can shake his hand and meet him over a cup of Wiki-Coffee.

Ernie is - even if not intentionally - a great teacher. When I listen to him playing I learn something new every time. Great for Wikiloops to have him here.

These are two amazing artists and this piece of music is one of the first to bring these two amazing people to my attention.

Ernie is very talented with a supportive attitude towards other members. This kind of encouragement is inspirational and what makes wikiloops my happy place.

Ernie once turned water into wine, and then back again just for fun :)
