If you rate Bob Dylan as a guitar player or singer you probably won't score him too highly unless you are a massive Bob-head. But as a song writer or performer... hard to beat. I think what he gave to music aside from those songs, was the simple message that you don't have to sound perfect, you have to have a voice and you have to mean it.

That wasn't around so much before him and I lose count of what came after (that we may not otherwise have had, staring with Jimi Hendrix) just because he stood up and made that point.

Anyway GBD put vox on a couple of my lyrics a few years ago, they were great. In particular "Skimming Stones" - sounded like you felt every ounce of pain I felt when I wrote it. Im still playing it,

Well... Shi in one of the earlier posts in this thread kind of pitched the idea to do an online "choir" piece once. No need for it to be completely pre-composed, it could just be people singing extra lines or fragments on top of (or under) a melody. I'd be interested to join a starting point if it ever came that (in fact, there's no reason why something like that couldn't start "today" of course, but I'm probably better in adding a line than in providing the starting point :) ).
