Immigration clouding the nation,
should we cast them aside?

hoping somehow there is more
than roundups and camps
paperwork and stamps,
shackles and gore.

Is there a place
for the entire human race
or must we divide
by the color of our face?

Our country is a blending
of black, brown, yellow, red,
no longer a country
of entitled purebred.

Yet some choose to divide us
by strict color lines,
fears resurface
and some choose to unwind

With fists thrusted
into the air
vile stares and online shares

Is there room for all of us
or must we continue
with prejudicial pride?

No easy answers
in the country we reside.
